HackAtom Seoul is the first in-person hackathon thrown in the heart of the Korean blockchain scene: Gangnam. We received a total of 90 applicants, with about 20 teams that showed up and put their best efforts forward. Many hackers were new to the Cosmos SDK, and a few veteran users showed up to hack or mentor.

In Closing

3…2…1…CØSMOS!

Overall, the two HackAtoms we’ve hosted so far both in Berlin and in Seoul had great turnouts with inventive ideas come out of those 2 and 3 day long events. We’re looking forward to the next HackAtom, which is coming to San Francisco this November with an even bigger prize pool, more hackers, and, a fully functional IBC to hack on.

See you there, Cosmonaut.

Special thanks to Erica Kang and June Kim (KryptoSeoul), our co-organizers of HackAtom Seoul, who supported us locally on the ground to get the grassroots developer community onboard the Cosmos. And many thanks to Nathan Lee, who ran all of the event logistics whose team helped us set up, break down, and fabricate all of the event assets like the banners, booths, bean bags, airbags, and wifi. We couldn’t have done this without you.
